Nagaland, April 17:<\/strong> The Nagaland Govt on Friday decided to set up a joint consultative committee for the preparation of the Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN), the state\u2019s own version of the National Register of Citizens (NRC<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n

According to the state government, the exercise of RIIN is to identify the citizens i.e, NRC, who settled in Nagaland prior to December 1, 1963, the day it became a full-fledged state.<\/p>\n

The objective of RIIN<\/a><\/span> is to prevent the issuance of indigenous inhabitant certificates to ineligible persons and also to maintain the record of indigenous inhabitants.<\/p>\n

Once the process is completed, persons whose names are included in the RIIN will be issued indigenous inhabitant certificates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
