{"id":10597,"date":"2021-04-17T16:41:17","date_gmt":"2021-04-17T11:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=10597"},"modified":"2021-04-17T17:43:20","modified_gmt":"2021-04-17T12:13:20","slug":"have-adequate-stocks-of-medicines-to-treat-covid19-in-assam-himanta-biswa-sarma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/have-adequate-stocks-of-medicines-to-treat-covid19-in-assam-himanta-biswa-sarma\/","title":{"rendered":"Have adequate stocks of medicines to treat Covid19 in Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Assam, April 17:<\/strong> Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that hospitals in the state have adequate stocks of medicines like Remdesivir injections to treat Covid19 patients.<\/p>\n<p>The health minister\u2019s claims to stock medicines come amidst spiralling cases of Covid19 cases in Assam.<\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.covid19treatmentguidelines.nih.gov\/antiviral-therapy\/remdesivir\/\">Remdesivir<\/a><\/span> injection is an anti-viral that is injected into adults and children of 12 years or above to treat Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>The injection prevents the virus from spreading in the body of an affected person.<\/p>\n<p>Sarma also said that there are adequate stocks of oxygen to administer to patients suffering from respiratory problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>I wish to reassure citizens of Assam that as of now we have adequate stock of Remdesivir Injections. In fact, a few days ago, we helped Govts of Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand with some supplies. I am continuously monitoring the supply of oxygen and Remdesivir so that we face no shortage<\/strong>,\u201d Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 573 tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours Assam, with 245 testings positive in Kamrup (Metro) district alone.<\/p>\n<p>The disease has claimed the lives of four more people, taking Assam\u2019s total death toll to 1,127.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Also Read<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/people-of-assam-will-come-out-successful-in-covid19-fight-cm-sarbananda-sonowal\/\">People of Assam will come out successful in covid19 fight: CM Sarbananda Sonowal<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A total of 2,22,940 positive cases have been detected in the state, of which 4,089 are active cases.<\/p>\n<p>Although Kamrup (Meto) has the highest caseload in Assam, lack of restrictions is resulting in people adopting a lack sided approach to the disease.<\/p>\n<p>A large percentage of the district\u2019s population do not follow protocols like using hand sanitisers and wearing face masks.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from this large crowds are frequently noticed in public places, with people not following social distancing in any manner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assam, April 17: Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that hospitals in the state have adequate stocks of medicines like Remdesivir injections to treat Covid19 patients.
