{"id":10779,"date":"2021-04-25T13:30:44","date_gmt":"2021-04-25T08:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=10779"},"modified":"2021-04-25T12:58:52","modified_gmt":"2021-04-25T07:28:52","slug":"pharmaceutical-companies-to-speed-up-remdesivir-production-in-assam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/pharmaceutical-companies-to-speed-up-remdesivir-production-in-assam\/","title":{"rendered":"Pharmaceutical companies to speed up Remdesivir production in Assam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Assam, April 25: <\/strong>Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said the state government has directed <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/sunpharma.com\/\">Sun Pharma<\/a><\/span> that produces the Remdesivir injection in the state to speed up production and roll out.<\/p>\n<p>The entire country is reeling under an acute shortage of Remdesivir injection, oxygen, and vaccines during the catastrophe that has been brought about by the second wave of Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>An unprecedented 3,49,691 people have tested positive for the virus in India in the last 24 hours, with 2,767 people succumbing to the infections.<\/p>\n<p>In Assam, 2,236 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, with the disease claiming 14 more lives.<\/p>\n<p>Kamrup (Metro) has the highest positive cases, with 815 people testing positive in the corresponding period.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Also Read: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/assam-govt-to-set-up-oxygen-plants-200-icu-beds\/\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Assam govt to set up oxygen plants, 200-ICU beds<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The health minister also visited the Sun Pharma live plant at Palasbari to take stock of the production of the Remdesivir injections required for the treatment of Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>The plant has a capacity of producing 80,000 injection vials in a week. On the other hand, the minister has directed all hospitals in Assam to set up their own oxygen unit to ensure a steady supply of oxygen to patients.<\/p>\n<p>They have also been asked to tie up with hotels for dedicated Covid beds in view of the alarming spike in positive cases.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AssamCovidUpdate?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AssamCovidUpdate<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In what shall give comfort to all, pleased to share that I visited <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SunPharma_Live?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SunPharma_Live<\/a> plant Palasbari, which has a capacity of 80K <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Remdesivir?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Remdesivir<\/a> vials production per week.
