{"id":11410,"date":"2021-05-16T17:14:43","date_gmt":"2021-05-16T11:44:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=11410"},"modified":"2021-05-16T18:23:17","modified_gmt":"2021-05-16T12:53:17","slug":"2-manipur-journalist-arrested-for-social-media-posts-on-bjp-leaders-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/2-manipur-journalist-arrested-for-social-media-posts-on-bjp-leaders-death\/","title":{"rendered":"2 Manipur Journalist and Activist arrested For Social Media Posts On BJP Leader&#8217;s Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Manipur, May 16:<\/strong> Manipur police have arrested a journalist and an activist in Manipur for making controversial comments on social media posts on the death of a senior BJP leader due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Manipur-based journalist Kishorechandra Wangkhem and political activist Erendro Leichombam were arrested on Thursday night from their houses after the state BJP vice-president, Usham Deban, and general secretary P Premananda Meetei filed a complaint against them.<\/p>\n<p>According to the complaint, the duo had posted offensive comments over the death of Saikhom Tikendra Singh, the state BJP president. &#8220;<strong>Cow dung and cow urine don&#8217;t work<\/strong>,&#8221; they said.<\/p>\n<p>The journalist, Mr Wangkhem, had been arrested twice in two different cases over his social media posts.
