All symptomatic individuals who test negative must get tested by RTPCR as RATs are likely to miss few positive cases with low viral load.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the RAT-based home testing purpose, the ICMR has approved the test kit manufactured by Mylab Discovery Solutions Ltd. The name of the kit is CoviSelfTM(PathoCatch) COVID-19 OTC Antigen LF device and the test sample needed is a nasal swab.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Here is a lowdown on ICMR&#8217;s advisory on home testing of Covid-19 cases<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Home testing by RAT is advised only in symptomatic individuals and immediate contacts of laboratory-confirmed positive cases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Indiscriminate testing is not advised.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Home testing should be conducted as per the procedure described by the manufacturer in the user manual<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-The home testing mobile app is available in <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/google-made-one-thousand-announcements-last-night-but-these-10-are-the-ones-you-must-know\/\">Google<\/a><\/span> play store and Apple store and must be downloaded by all users.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-The mobile app is a comprehensive guide of the testing procedure and will provide a positive or negative test result to the patient.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-All users are advised to click a picture of the test strip after completing the test procedure with the same mobile phone which has been used for downloading the mobile app and user registration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Data in the app of your mobile phone will be centrally captured in a secure server that is connected with the ICMR COVID-19 testing portal, where all data will be eventually stored.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Patient confidentiality will be fully maintained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-All individuals who test positive may be considered true positives and no-repeat testing is required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-All test positive individuals are advised to follow home isolation and care as per the ICMR &amp; Ministry of Health &amp; Family Welfare (MoH&amp;FW) protocol which can be accessed at\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.icmr.gov.in\/chomecare.html\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.icmr.gov.in\/chomecare.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1621580843597000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHSzPHv_9N8aFlqM3eZJunWjyTrfQ\">https:\/\/www.icmr.gov.in\/chomecare.html<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-All symptomatic individuals who test negative by RAT should get themselves immediately tested by RTPCR.
