Sikkim, June 6:<\/strong> Sikkim government has extended its lockdown till 5 am on June 16, an extension by a week as the current lockdown period ends on June 7.<\/p>\n

Sikkim has been in partial lockdown since May 6, while the complete lockdown has been implemented since May 16.<\/p>\n

As per the top source informed the state government extended the relaxation on ration shops and vegetable shops. The shops will be allowed to run from 7 am to 2 pm. There is also a consideration on allowing few other essential shops, other than ration to open in the time designated by the government<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Sikkim’s COVID-19 tally rose to 16,771 on Saturday as 253 more people tested positive for the infection, while two fresh fatalities pushed the Himalayan state’s coronavirus death toll to 268, a health bulletin said.<\/p>\n

East Sikkim recorded the highest number of new cases at 110, followed by South Sikkim (67), West Sikkim (47) and North Sikkim (29).<\/p>\n

Sikkim<\/a><\/span> now has 4,218 active cases, while 12,049 people have recovered from the disease and 236 others have migrated to other states so far.<\/p>\n

The Himalayan state has tested over 1.3 lakh samples thus far, including 2,655 in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
