Itanagar, June 10: <\/strong>In a major development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday registered a fresh FIR in a corruption case against former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki for alleged irregularities in construction work in the state in 2005-06 when he was Minister for PWD and urban development.<\/p>\n

This is the second FIR by the investigation agency in a corruption case against Nabam Tuki.<\/p>\n

The case is related to a contract for the construction of a Kendriya Vidyalaya school<\/a><\/span> boundary in the Salt Lake area of Kolkata, West Bengal.<\/p>\n

In its FIR, the CBI has alleged that as the PWD minister back in 2005-06, Nabam Tuki awarded the tender to firms controlled by his family members, causing wrongful loss to the state government and corresponding “wrongful<\/strong>” gain to the minister and relatives.<\/p>\n

The work to Arunachal Pradesh PWD was awarded by the then Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya suo motu in 2005 despite the fact it “did not have the required establishment and wherewithal<\/strong>” in the Salt Lake area where construction was to take place.<\/p>\n

A case was registered against Nabam Tuki and his brother Nabam Tagam on allegations that Nabam Tuki, as minister of consumer affairs and civil supplies in 2003, had given 11 contracts to his family members including his brother which were worth Rs 20 crore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
