Guwahati, June 21:<\/strong> In this year also the annual Ambubachi Mela will not be celebrated at Kamakhya temple<\/a><\/span> in Guwahati in a festival manner due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in the state.<\/p>\n

The temple management authority said that, in view of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation the annual Ambubachi Mela won\u2019t be celebrated in a festival manner, however, the customary rituals will be continued and the mela will only be observed behind the door.<\/p>\n

The temple management authority also said that the doors of the historic temple will remain closed till June 30.<\/p>\n

Kabindra Prasad Sarma \u2013 Doloi (head priest) of the historical temple said that this year\u2019s Ambubachi Mela will be observed behind the doors and only the rituals will be performed in the temple which will be started from June 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cPravritti of the Mela will be performed at 2-06 pm on June 21 the nivritti to be performed at 2-29 am on June 26. We will only perform the customary rituals, not celebrate the mela in a festival manner,\u201d<\/strong> Kabindra Prasad Sarma said.<\/p>\n
