Army-police arrested two NSCN (IM) cadres with arms in Assam:<\/h1>\n

Guwahati, April 26: 2 cadres with arms arrested by Army-police in Assam. Indian army and police<\/a> had apprehended two hardcore cadres of NSCN (IM) in Assam and recovered arms and ammunition.<\/p>\n

Troops of the Indian army in a joint operation with Assam police apprehended a cadre of NSCN (IM) near the Lalpahara area in Tinsukia district.<\/p>\n

Guwahati based Defence PRO Lt Col P Khongsai said that, based on a specific input, the joint team launched a search operation in the area on Friday evening and during the operation, the troops apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre.<\/p>\n

The 2 cadres with arms arrested by Army-police in Assam were identified as Raju Bramo hailing from the Golaghat district of Assam.<\/p>\n

During the operation, the troops also recovered one point 22 pistol and four live rounds of ammunition in possession from him.<\/p>\n

The apprehended cadre along with the recovered weapon was handed over to Lekhapani police station for further investigations.<\/p>\n

Earlier in another operation, troops of the Indian army<\/a> also apprehended a senior cadre of NSCN (IM) near Titabor in Jorhat district of Assam.<\/p>\n

Based on a specific input, the troops launched a swift operation and established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post in the area and during checking of the vehicles, the troops apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre who was trying to escape from the check post.<\/p>\n

The apprehended cadre was identified as Nyaoba Konyak alias Nweypa hailing from Mon district of Nagaland.<\/p>\n

Security personnel had recovered two USA made Beretta pistols with two magazines.<\/p>\n
