{"id":15770,"date":"2021-12-15T11:33:29","date_gmt":"2021-12-15T06:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/?p=15770"},"modified":"2021-12-15T11:58:00","modified_gmt":"2021-12-15T06:28:00","slug":"nagaland-killings-assam-congress-joins-chorus-for-afspa-repeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/nagaland-killings-assam-congress-joins-chorus-for-afspa-repeal\/","title":{"rendered":"Nagaland killings: Assam Congress joins chorus for AFSPA repeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Guwahati, Dec 15:<\/strong> Along with AFSPA, organizations, tribal bodies, political parties of Nagaland and other states of North East India, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has also demanded of repealing the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 from the North-Eastern region.<\/p>\n<p>The chorus for repealing of <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Armed_Forces_(Special_Powers)_Act#:~:text=Armed%20Forces%20Special%20Powers%20Act,order%20in%20%22disturbed%20areas%22.\">AFSPA<\/a><\/span> from the North-Eastern region grows shriller following the killing of 14 civilians in Nagaland Mon district.<\/p>\n<p>Bhupen Kumar Borah \u2013 president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee said that, only because of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), many people of the North East have lost their lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>The recent incident that took place in Nagaland\u2019s Mon district is one of the biggest examples. Many people of the North-Eastern region have lost their lives only because of AFSPA.
