Agartala, Dec 19:\u00a0<\/strong>Tripura has exported a total of 40 metric tons of organic pineapple to Germany. Pineapples from Tripura will now be available at markets in Hamburg of Germany.<\/p>\n

The first consignment of organic pineapples of Tripura was flagged off by chief minister Biplab Deb at Kumargahat in the Unakoti district.<\/p>\n

The pineapple consignment has been flagged off by the Tripura CM through waterways on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Tripura’s horticulture department has informed that it is for the first time after closing down of NEERAMAC\u2019s fruit concentration centre in 2007-08, the organically processed pineapple has been exported.<\/h5>\n

\u201cGrowing demand and proper management have ensured that pineapples which were earlier dumped and not even priced at Rs 2 in the local markets, is now fetching a stable price not less than Rs 15-20,\u201d<\/strong> Tripura CM Biplab Deb said.<\/p>\n
