This is false and misleading and is based on incomplete information.<\/p>\n<p>Almost a year ago, the coronavirus vaccination drive began in full swing for people aged 65 and above. Over time, adults 18 and beyond were prioritized for the same and many have received one or both doses of COVID-19 vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>Finally now, after a year of worry and anxiety, parents breathe a sigh of relief as their children are set to receive their first dose of vaccine shot. Teens falling in the 15-17 age groups are eligible for vaccination in the country from today. As per the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry, <strong>\u201call those whose birth year is 2007\u201d<\/strong> or before, shall be eligible for the vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as the vaccines for teenagers began, parents claimed that the kids have been administrated with the expired vaccines.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So my son went to get his first vaccine, the drive for kids begin today and realized that the vaccine had already expired in November. Then a letter was shown wherein it seems the shelf life has been extended!!How, why, on what basis? <\/p>\n<p>To clear stock you experiment on kids? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/259ZHDBMSN\">pic.twitter.com\/259ZHDBMSN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Navanita Varadpande (@VpNavanita) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VpNavanita\/status\/1477871317433028608?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 3, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Union Ministry further clarified that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/cdsco.gov.in\/opencms\/opencms\/en\/Home\/\">CDSCO<\/a><\/span>) on 25th October 2021, in response to M\/s Bharat Biotech International Limited\u2019s letter no: BBIL\/RA\/21\/567 has approved the extension of the shelf life of Covaxin (Whole Virion, Inactivated Coronavirus Vaccine) from 9 months to 12 months.
