Delhi, Jan 05:\u00a0<\/strong>In a bid to control the rising coronavirus cases across the national capital, the Delhi government has decided to impose a weekend curfew from Friday 10 PM to Monday 5 AM.<\/p>\n

Fuelled by the newly emerged Omicron variant, the Covid-19 situation is deteriorating with every passing day.<\/p>\n

After the Delhi<\/a><\/span> Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting held yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that \u201cCovid-19 cases are on a rise in Delhi and the rest of the country. However, it is a relief that the Omicron variant here is showing similar trends to that of the world. It shows mild symptoms that are curable at home isolation. But we still need to take necessary precautions to curb the infection.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Furthermore, he urged the people to step out only when it is an absolute necessity after wearing a mask and to maintain social\/physical distancing.<\/p>\n

The following people will be exempted during the weekend curfew in Delhi<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. During the night and weekend curfews, emergency personnel and officers who are responsible for providing essential services may enter with a valid ID<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. On production of a valid identity card and after adhering to restrictions imposed by the Union Government, <\/strong>employees and officials of the Government of India, its autonomous or subordinate offices, and PSUs.<\/li>\n
  3. All judges, judicial officers, and other staff members of Delhi’s courts, as well as lawyers and advocates associated with case hearings on presentation of their valid identity cards, service identification cards, and photo entry passes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Diplomats and employees of embassies of different countries, along with holding any constitutional office, on presentation of a valid identity card.<\/li>\n
  5. All private health care workers, such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other hospital providers, including hospitals, diagnostic centres, testing laboratories, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, and providers of medical oxygen and other health care services who produce a valid ID card.<\/li>\n
  6. Patients and pregnant women, along with attendants under the age of 18, can receive medical and health care<\/strong> by presenting a valid ID card or doctor’s note.<\/li>\n
  7. Persons who need to get tested for or vaccinated against COVID-19<\/strong> and present their valid ID.<\/li>\n
  8. Travellers entering or leaving airports, railway stations, and interstate bus terminals are permitted to travel upon production of a valid ticket.<\/li>\n
  9. Electronic or printed media<\/strong> are permitted upon production of a valid ID.<\/li>\n
  10. On production of a valid admit card, individuals and students may appear in examinations, and on the production of a valid identity card or an examination duty order, examination staff assigned to exam duties<\/strong> may travel.<\/li>\n
  11. Individuals can move by themselves for marriage-related gatherings for up to 20 guests if they produce the marriage certificate<\/strong> in soft or hard copy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
