The state will vote on February 27 and March 3.<\/p>\n<p>Manipur has 60 seats and 38 seats will go to the polls in the first phase.<\/p>\n<p>The Congress has already submitted a letter to the Election Commission of India (<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/eci.gov.in\/\">ECI<\/a><\/span>), stating that February 27 is Sunday and voting on that day of the week goes against the religious sentiment of the Christian community. Hence requested to reschedule Manipur Polls.<\/p>\n<p>Tribal groups and tribal students\u2019 unions also have the same opinion.<\/p>\n<p>AICC national vice-chairperson and Spokesperson, said, <strong>\u201cSunday is scary day as Christians have to go to their church. We have written to the EC to reconsider this date. Any day apart from Sunday is fine. They have changed the date in Punjab.
