They have acknowledged that the day being a Sunday is the prayer day of the Christian neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>A gathering of denominational leaders of the Christian religion was held on Thursday. On January 17, leaders of the All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) met the CEO, Manipur with a memorandum requesting the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to change the date.<\/p>\n<div data-brcount=\"13\">\n<p>AMCO president S Prim Vaiphei mentioned that the assembly resolved to give a reminder to\u00a0ECI to reschedule the primary part of the poll dates in Manipur which falls on Sunday. \u201c<strong>The meeting decided to move court if ECI does not reschedule<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>The Christian community will not sit back but will continue to fight to ensure the rights of the Christians<\/strong>,\u201d Vaiphei added.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Also Read<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/manipur-assembly-polls-filing-of-nominations-for-first-phase-begins\/\">Manipur Assembly polls: Filing of nominations for the first phase begins<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Christian inhabitants account for 41.29 p.c of Manipur\u2019s three million individuals. There are 41.39 per cent are Hindu and eight.40 per cent of persons belong to Muslim.<\/p>\n<p>Naga People\u2019s Front (NPF) President Awangbou Newmai mentioned it\u2019s a sacred day for the Christian neighbourhood and it\u2019s a day of relaxation and worship for them. &#8220;<strong>India is a secular nation that treats every religion equally and violating one religious right is not the principle of secularism.
