The Assam\u2019s Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said on Friday that the government has decided to introduce the four tribal languages as a medium of instruction at the lower primary school level to fulfil the demands of these communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>We have decided to introduce Mising, Rabha, Tiwa and Deori languages as a medium of instruction from classes one to five. It was a demand from these communities to introduce these languages as a medium of instruction at lower primary school level<\/strong>,\u201d said Pegu.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the module will be multilingual. \u201c<strong>While teaching Rabha language, textbooks will be prepared in such a way that students can simultaneously learn Assamese or English<\/strong>,\u201d added the minister.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister further said that the government is trying to introduce these languages as a medium of instruction this year itself only, \u201c<strong>though it is dependent on technical factors like the preparation of textbooks<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Also Read<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/assam-will-be-the-laboratory-of-language-based-education-in-india-dharmendra-pradhan\/\">Assam will be the laboratory of language-based education in India: Dharmendra Pradhan<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Schools and teachers proficient in the aforementioned languages will be identified for the preparation of textbooks. Otherwise, these languages will be introduced in 2023<\/strong>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the Assam government announced that it will introduce Garo and seven other tribal languages that will be part of the curriculum in Assam schools up to the higher secondary level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>There will be an option to learn any tribal language in classes VI to VIII as an optional subject and from Class IX to XII as an elective subject.
