To intensify further into a Deep Depression during next 24 hours. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HgfYcsZ7AC\">pic.twitter.com\/HgfYcsZ7AC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; India Meteorological Department (@Indiametdept) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Indiametdept\/status\/1505388895546265600?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 20, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In its bulletin on Saturday, the IMD said thereafter, it is likely to move nearly north-northeastwards and reach near north Myanmar southeast Bangladesh coasts on March 22.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over southeast Bay of Bengal &amp; adjoining south Andaman Sea persists over the same region at 0830 hours IST of today, the 19th March. It is likely to move nearly northwards along &amp; off Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands,  <br \/>    1\/12 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uvanVZc4hB\">pic.twitter.com\/uvanVZc4hB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; India Meteorological Department (@Indiametdept) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Indiametdept\/status\/1505107564283199490?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 19, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few places over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over the Nicobar Islands.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cClimatologically March is not cyclone season. It\u2019s April and May. The ocean is cooler in March and solar insolation is not very high. In March westerly systems are predominant in the northern parts of the country and easterly waves are predominant over the Peninsular region,\u201d<\/strong> a senior official informed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAsani may weaken before landfall but when its intensity is of a cyclone, it will be very close to Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands. Secretary, Disaster Management Pankaj Kumar informed that vast arrangements have been made to tackle the situation, and quick response teams formed. He appeals to the public not to believe in rumours and reports any incident directly to the control room for action.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, teams of <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ndrf.gov.in\/\">NDRF<\/a> <\/span>deployed in Andaman and Nicobar Islands are surveying, sensitizing, and evacuating people at low land areas with the help of district administration.
