The foundation stone of the park was laid by former CM Sarbananda Sonowal on February 27, 2019.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This latest addition to Assam\u2019s energy infrastructure is an attempt to shift towards cleaner energy forms, a vision we have pursued since the very beginning.<\/p>\n<p>The State\u2019s largest solar power project will significantly boost power generation from alternative sources of energy. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UBpxldeTaF\">pic.twitter.com\/UBpxldeTaF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Himanta Biswa Sarma (@himantabiswa) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/himantabiswa\/status\/1531664072831213569?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Commissioning the mega project, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the park would provide a new impetus in making Assam self-sufficient in terms of power production. Despite being rich in natural resources and quality manpower, the state has not been able to exploit it due to lack of planning. Way back in 2012, PM Narendra had Modi set up solar power parks in his home state, Gujarat, while Assam had to wait for 10 long years to gets its first park.
