It will be the first in Arunachal Pradesh with a runway of 2,300 metres, suitable for operating Boeing 747s, one of the largest passenger aircraft.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis name of the lone airport in the capital city will symbolise the age-old tradition and rich cultural heritage of the tribal state and also will reflect the people\u2019s age-old indigenous reverence on the Sun (Donyi) and the Moon (Polo),\u201d<\/strong> said a statement issued by the Chief Minister\u2019s Office after the cabinet approved the name.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In a major push to healthcare, the Cabinet today decided to set up ICUs and Paediatric Care Units in Arunachal Pradesh. <\/p>\n<p>Besides the under-construction Greenfield Airport has been named as Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/r23rr1j9EW\">pic.twitter.com\/r23rr1j9EW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Pema Khandu \u0f54\u0f51\u0fa8\u0f0b\u0f58\u0f41\u0f60\u0f0b\u0f60\u0f42\u0fb2\u0f7c\u0f0b\u0f0d (@PemaKhanduBJP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PemaKhanduBJP\/status\/1555226149310984192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 4, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The first flight test landed at the airport on July 19.<\/p>\n<h6>At present, there is no airport in the vicinity of the state capital, the closest one being Lilabari airport in Assam\u2019s North Lakhimpur district, around 80 km away.<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Also Read<\/span>:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/hollongi-greenfield-airport-in-arunachal-to-be-inaugurated-soon-aai\/\"><strong>Hollongi greenfield airport in Arunachal to be inaugurated soon: AAI<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p>With an area of 4,100 sqm, the airport is equipped with all modern facilities for passengers, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The terminal is an energy-efficient building with a rainwater harvesting system and sustainable landscape, they said.<\/p>\n<p>The state cabinet also approved various proposals for the upgrade of health infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Among these was the proposal for setting up six-bed intensive care unit facilities at BPGH Pasighat, and general hospitals in Aalo, Bomdila, Tezu, Khonsa, and Ziro at an estimated cost of Rs 6.06 crore.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the cabinet was briefed about the actionable points of the meeting of chief ministers with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 24 in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAAI\u2019s newly built Hollongi greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh is all set to be inaugurated soon,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aai.aero\/\">AAI<\/a> <\/span>informed.<\/p>\n<p>The airport is built in an area covering 685 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 660 crore.\u00a0<strong>\u201cThe airport is suitable for the operations of Airbus-320 type of aircraft,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0AAI said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">AAI\u2019s newly built <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Hollongi?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Hollongi<\/a> Greenfield Airport in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ArunachalPradesh?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ArunachalPradesh<\/a> is all set to be inaugurated soon.
