{"id":20310,"date":"2022-08-30T18:10:56","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T12:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/?p=20310"},"modified":"2022-08-30T18:10:56","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T12:40:56","slug":"assam-gmch-conducts-the-first-bone-marrow-transplant-successfully-in-the-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/assam-gmch-conducts-the-first-bone-marrow-transplant-successfully-in-the-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Assam: GMCH conducts the first bone marrow transplant successfully in the state"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Guwahati, Aug 30: <\/strong>The Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) have reportedly completed its first even first bone marrow transplant (BMT) successfully in Assam.<\/p>\n<p>As per reports, the patient who underwent the transplantation is a resident of Kamalpur and was released from the hospital on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The GMCH according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has two seats for BMT patients as of now while the successful transplantation was seen to be a massive advancement in the health sector.<\/p>\n<p>The procedure for the transplantation cost around Rs 2 lakh at the <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gmchassam.gov.in\/\">GMCH<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Also Read<\/span>:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/assam-police-seized-4728-kg-ganja-in-karimganj\/\"><strong>Assam Police seized 4,728 kg ganja in Karimganj<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The CM also visited the doctors and staff involved in the procedure at the hospital to greet them. He further stressed the need for more seats for BMT.<\/p>\n<p>While sharing the news on Twitter CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that<strong> \u201cMy heartiest congratulations to HM @keshab_mahanta, Prof Jina Bhattacharyya &amp; GMCH team on your stupendous feat of performing Assam&#8217;s first Bone Marrow Transplant on a 46-yr-old male patient. What makes this feat special is that now it gives us the ability to offer this critical care to patients at a much lower cost than the cost incurred by State Govt in referring our patients outside Assam.
