Guwahati, Sep 15:\u00a0<\/strong>A fake Currency Printing Machine was seized in Guwahati\u2019s Kahilipara by the Guwahati Police late at night.<\/p>\n

One man identified as Apu Roy was detained by police. He would lure people for multiplying their money with fake currencies.<\/p>\n

Last week, Assam Police conducted raids in the Nagaon and Hojai districts of the state against fake currency rackets, officials informed on Friday.<\/p>\n

A joint operation was conducted by police teams from Haibargaon and Kathiatali police stations.<\/p>\n

During the operation, officials apprehended one person and seized a fake currency printing machine.<\/p>\n

The operation was carried out in Dabaka in the Hojai district of Assam. Police apprehended Abdul Jalil in connection with the bust.<\/p>\n

Cracking the whip on fake currency rackets in the state, a police team from Nagaon had conducted raids in Guwahati\u2019s Hatigaon<\/a> <\/span>area to bust a major base recently.<\/p>\n

Fake currency notes amounting to around Rs 20 lakhs along with printing machines were confiscated during the major operation conducted by Nagaon Police on September 6.<\/p>\n

Moreover, police also arrested four people including a woman in connection with running the fake notes racket.<\/p>\n

Those apprehended by the police were identified as Saddiqul Islam, Mofizul Islam, Aizul Rahmana, and Rima Baishya.<\/p>\n

Officials informed that they had taken a space on rent in Guwahati\u2019s Haitgaon from where they operated their racket.<\/p>\n

It may be noted that police had busted another fake notes racket in the Darrang district of Assam the previous day.<\/p>\n

In a late-night raid at Lengripara locality in Mangaldoi, police arrested six people including three women. They were identified as Zaman Hussain, Anwar Hussain, Syed Hussain, Rijuma Hussain, Joba Das and Priya Rai.<\/p>\n

During the raid, police uncovered fake Indian currency notes amounting to lakhs hidden in several places inside the rented room.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
