Covid-19 – a blessing in disguise? Happy World Environment Day<\/h1>\n

Is Covid-19<\/a><\/span> a blessing in disguise? At a time when it has affected millions of people worldwide, pollution levels in air, water and soil have decreased drastically all over.<\/p>\n

Even if for some time, is the \u201ccorona crisis helping our planet breathe again?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, it indeed is. Today we have cleaner water in rivers and oceans, fresher air to breathe. Wildlife and birds are returning home<\/a><\/span>. Skies are clearer than ever before. Nature is once again healing itself.<\/p>\n

It is at such times when we need to realise the importance of Mother Nature and make a firm resolve to take care of her health even after this lockdown period<\/a><\/span> is over.<\/p>\n

It is high time now to give time to Nature and help it heal itself. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Time for Nature<\/strong>\u2019 is exactly what we need to take out from our busy schedules and monotonous lives as Mother Nature not only provides us with the habitat to live, but it also gives us fresh air to breathe, clean water to drink and so much more. It brings solace to lonely minds, helps one fight stress, depression and other chronic diseases. It strengthens our immune system and is the reason behind our existence. Nature’s presence and involvement makes us healthier and happier.<\/p>\n

We shall ever be indebted to her for her unconditional and infinite amount of love, care and affection. The only way to repay the debt is perhaps by saving the Mother from the destruction caused by human intervention.<\/p>\n

The United Nations General Assembly designated 5th June to be celebrated as World Environment Day every year. On the same day, which also happened to be the first day of the Stockholm Conference, another resolution to create the UNEP was also adopted.<\/p>\n

Since then this day is celebrated every year as the UN\u2019s principal vehicle of spreading awareness of the environment and enhancing political attention and action towards it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Yet, these are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message:<\/strong>
\nTo care for ourselves we must care for nature. <\/strong><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s time to wake up. To take notice. To raise our voices.<\/strong>
\nIt\u2019s time to build back better for People and Planet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This World Environment Day, it\u2019s Time for Nature.\u201d (UNEP)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Over the years human intervention has been a major source of polluting the environment in uncountable ways. Air, Water, Soil pollution have been a constant hazard to animal and plant life. Every year the numbers would simply increase.<\/p>\n

But with the lockdown in place due to Covid-19 pandemic, the figures have changed. There is an anomaly!<\/p>\n

On this day, let\u2019s pledge to be better human beings, to continue the good work that\u2019s happening. Let\u2019s pledge to plant more trees, cause less pollution, reduce, reuse and recycle, conserve electricity and water, educate ourselves and others about our environment, protect animal and plant lives.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s pledge to save our environment together.<\/p>\n
