Assam women perform \u2018Corona Devi Puja\u2019 to end the deadly coronavirus:<\/h1>\n

Guwahati, June 6: When the entire world is fighting against the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the scientists are working to develop COVID-19 vaccine<\/a><\/span><\/span>, medicines, at that time people\u2019s panic over the deadly virus has diverted to strange superstitions in Assam to put an end to coronavirus.<\/p>\n

A large section of people in many parts of the state have now started worshipping the novel Coronavirus as a \u2018Goddess\u2019.<\/p>\n

The people \u2013 mostly women are now performing \u2018Corona Devi Puja<\/strong>\u2019 and they believe that it is the only way to put an end of the deadly virus pandemic.<\/p>\n

From Biswanath Chariali to Darrang district and even in Guwahati, the people have performed \u2018Corona Devi Puja<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n

In Biswanath Chariali, a section of women on Saturday had performed \u2018Corona Devi Puja\u2019 on the bank of a river.<\/p>\n

A woman said that they believe that, it is the only way to put the end of the deadly virus.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are performing puja of \u2018Corona Maa\u2019. After the puja, the wind will come and destroy the virus<\/strong>,\u201d the woman said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Corona Puja\u2019 was also performed by the women at Dalgaon in Darrang district, Guwahati.<\/p>\n

Assam on Saturday has reported 81 new positive cases for COVID-19<\/a><\/span><\/span> and with the new cases, the state tally has now surged to 2324.<\/p>\n

Out of the new cases, 40 cases have been reported from Hojai district while 9 from Dhemaji, seven each from Barpeta and Nagaon, four each from Biswanath and airport, three from Sonitpur, two each from Karbi Anglong and Tinsukia, one each from Morigaon, Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur districts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
