New Delhi, Jan 18: <\/strong>The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the poll schedule for the Legislative Assembly poll in three North Eastern states of Tripura, Nagaland, and Meghalaya on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Earlier the poll panel said that it would visit the three states to review preparedness ahead of the elections.<\/p>\n

The three states would be the first to undergo polls this year likely in February-March. The terms of their respective Legislative Assemblies are ending on different dates in March.<\/p>\n

  • Schedule for Assembly elections in Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • The assembly election in Tripura will take place on February 16. Polls in Meghalaya and Nagaland on February 27. The results will be declared on March 2.<\/li>\n
    • The counting of votes will be done on March 2: ECE<\/li>\n
    • Nagaland and Meghalaya will vote on February 27: The election commission of India<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      • Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there will be\u00a0some polling stations managed completely by PwDs and\u00a0women staff. Women will be in command in 376 polling stations across Nagaland, Meghalaya and\u00a0Tripura, he said.<\/li>\n
      • “Taking forward our initiative from Gujarat and\u00a0HP Assembly elections held recently, in Meghalaya 60 polling stations will be managed by the youngest available staff, to inspire Young voters to participate in the festival of democracy,” CEC Rajiv Kumar said.<\/li>\n
