{"id":22241,"date":"2023-01-21T08:44:23","date_gmt":"2023-01-21T03:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/?p=22241"},"modified":"2023-01-21T08:44:23","modified_gmt":"2023-01-21T03:14:23","slug":"no-more-loud-pipes-on-motorcycles-in-meghalayas-east-khasi-hills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/no-more-loud-pipes-on-motorcycles-in-meghalayas-east-khasi-hills\/","title":{"rendered":"No more loud pipes on motorcycles in Meghalaya\u2019s East Khasi Hills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>East Khasi Hills, Jan 21:\u00a0<\/strong>The East Khasi Hills district Superintendent of Police (Traffic) of Meghalaya issued an order requiring all vehicle owners who&#8217;ve equipped their exhaust pipes with retrofitted variations to remove and replace them with original exhaust pipes.<\/p>\n<p>Any person found violating this order can be penalized in keeping with the provisions of the law.<\/p>\n<p>This order is available in reaction to the increasing amount of noise pollution in the city, particularly at night, caused by these modified exhausts.<\/p>\n<p>According to Section 182A (4)\/190(2) of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, these modified exhausts cause immense discomfort to the elderly, the young, and other people who require silence.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Also Read<\/span>:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/new-sikkim-partys-launch-all-set-for-republic-day\/\"><strong>New Sikkim party\u2019s launch all set for Republic Day<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Noise_pollution\">Noise Pollution<\/a><\/span> (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, which are in force across the country, specify that the maximum permissible noise level from any vehicle should not exceed 80 decibels.<\/p>\n<p>If a vehicle is found to be emitting noise in excess of this limit, the vehicle owner may be issued a warning or fined by the police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>East Khasi Hills, Jan 21:\u00a0The East Khasi Hills district Superintendent of Police (Traffic) of Meghalaya issued an order requiring all vehicle owners who&#8217;ve equipped their exhaust pipes with retrofitted variations to remove and replace them with original exhaust pipes.
