Rudraprayag, Feb 21:\u00a0<\/strong>Char Dham Yatra will start on 22 April. Online registration for this yatra will start on February 21 and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will hold a meeting.<\/p>\n

The annual pilgrimage will start on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on April 22 with the opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham gates. Portals of Badrinath will open on April 27.<\/p>\n

Uttarakhand is known to be home to several temples and shrines. However, Char Dham is considered to be one of the holiest places to visit in Uttarakhand among all the other temples and shrines located in the state.<\/p>\n

The Char Dham consists of four holy shrines; the Yamunotri<\/a><\/span>, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. It is said that when one visits the Char Dham, they should do so in a clockwise direction. This means that they should start with the Yamunotri, then visit Gangotri, after which they should visit Kedarnath, and then end at Badrinath.<\/p>\n

Yamunotri is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and Gangotri is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. While Kedarnath is a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, Badrinath is a shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu.<\/p>\n

Kedarnath is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Devotees from all over the world visit the temple, however, the Kedarnath temple is open only for a brief period of six to seven months from April to October. The temple remains closed during the winter month; i.e, from November to mid-April. Devotees make a visit to Kedarnath during this time. However, one has to make bookings prior to their visit.<\/p>\n

The Kedarnath temple is opening its door to devotees on April 25, 2023. The temple shrine is scheduled to open at 6: 20 AM on April 25.<\/p>\n
