{"id":2338,"date":"2020-06-12T20:02:10","date_gmt":"2020-06-12T14:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=2338"},"modified":"2020-06-12T20:02:10","modified_gmt":"2020-06-12T14:32:10","slug":"assam-petroleum-ministry-inquire-baghjan-gas-well-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/assam-petroleum-ministry-inquire-baghjan-gas-well-fire\/","title":{"rendered":"Assam petroleum Ministry inquire Baghjan gas well fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Petroleum Ministry constitutes High-Level Committee to inquire Baghjan gas well fire, Assam government orders probe:<\/h1>\n<p>Guwahati, June 12: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) has ordered a probe into the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/oil-rig-gas-well-blow-out-in-assam\/\">blowout and fire incident<\/a><\/span><\/span> at Baghjan oil field in Assam, Tinsukia district.<\/p>\n<p>The MoPNG on Thursday has constituted a three-member High-Level Committee to inquire the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The High-Level Committee has been comprised by S.C.L Das, Director General, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, B.C Bora, former Chairman ONGC and TK Sengupta, former Director ONGC and <strong>the Committee will identify the lapses in following laid down protocols and procedures which led to the incident, recommend short and long-term measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents including identifying any gaps in laid down standard operating procedures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The committee has been asked to submit its report within one month.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2352\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nerising.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMG-20200611-WA0309.jpg?resize=568%2C689&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Assam petroleum Ministry inquire Baghjan gas well fire\" width=\"568\" height=\"689\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/northeastrising.in\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMG-20200611-WA0309.jpg?w=940&amp;ssl=1 940w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/northeastrising.in\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMG-20200611-WA0309.jpg?resize=247%2C300&amp;ssl=1 247w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/northeastrising.in\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMG-20200611-WA0309.jpg?resize=844%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 844w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/northeastrising.in\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMG-20200611-WA0309.jpg?resize=768%2C931&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/northeastrising.in\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMG-20200611-WA0309.jpg?resize=696%2C844&amp;ssl=1 696w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/northeastrising.in\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMG-20200611-WA0309.jpg?resize=346%2C420&amp;ssl=1 346w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Natural gas mixed with condensate started flowing uncontrollably from one of the wells of Oil India Ltd in Baghjan fields in Tinsukia district on May 27 leading to a blowout and the well-caught fire on June 9.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/two-firefighters-die-in-baghjan-oil-field\/\">Two firefighters were killed<\/a><\/span><\/span> and four others injured in the fire incident.<\/p>\n<p>Over 7000 people living surrounding the areas of the oil field, were forced to leave their homes following the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced an inquiry into the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/baghjan-oil-field-in-assam-caught-on-fire\/\">oil well blow out<\/a><\/span><\/span> and subsequent fire incident in Baghjan, Tinsukia and entrusted Additional Chief Secretary Maninder Singh with the responsibility to conduct the inquiry and submit a report within 15 days.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the Chief Minister also directed Additional Principal Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) M. K.
