Aizawl, March 26:\u00a0<\/strong>The charred bodies of three individuals, including a woman, were discovered by the police of Mizoram in a forested area of Myanmar.<\/p>\n

The victims, who belonged to Mizoram’s Siaha district, had gone missing after departing for Myanmar from their Ainak village<\/a><\/span> on March 19th.<\/p>\n

Inspector General of Police Lalbiakthanga Khiangte has confirmed the recovery of the bodies and stated that the case is currently being investigated.<\/p>\n

According to the police, it is suspected that the victims were taken hostage and murdered by former members of a militant organization in Myanmar.<\/p>\n

The killers, who are alleged arms smugglers, held the victims, hostage because they failed to repay money owed to them. The India-Myanmar border has a Free Movement Regime which allows tribes living along the border to travel 16.<\/p>\n

This tragic incident highlights the risks and dangers of living in border areas where illegal activities such as arms smuggling and organized crime are prevalent.<\/p>\n
