Itanagar, April 11:\u00a0<\/strong>China’s recent actions in the Indo-Pacific and its aggressive stance towards India’s claims over Arunachal Pradesh have caused tensions to rise in the region.<\/p>\n

President Xi Jinping’s wolf warriors, who are responsible for ensuring China’s core interests are protected, have been flexing their military muscle and using sharp language against India. This has led to concerns about the possible military conflict in the region.<\/p>\n

The recent three-day military display by China against Taiwan was seen as a clear warning to the Indo-Pacific region to stay away from Taipei. China claims Taiwan as its own and is prepared to use military force to take it back, regardless of international laws or diplomacy.<\/p>\n

This has raised concerns for Japan, as any intervention by China against Taiwan would drag Tokyo into the conflict. While Japan defines China as a clear adversary, it may have to shed its pacifist doctrine if it wants to take on China.<\/p>\n

At the same time, China has been using the boundary dispute with India over Arunachal Pradesh as a way to destabilize the Modi government and curb its participation in the QUAD.<\/p>\n

China recently renamed 11 geographical locations in Arunachal Pradesh, which it claims as its own, and a Chinese diplomat accused Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Kibithoo of violating Chinese territorial integrity. India has rejected China’s claims and declared zero tolerance for any encroachment on its borders.<\/p>\n

India has also been taking steps to strengthen its military infrastructure in the Northeast, with visits by top military officials to review preparedness and fly fighter jets from key operational bases. The Indian military is capable of defending the country’s borders, as demonstrated by its operations in South Pangong Tso in August 2020.<\/p>\n

Overall, China’s aggressive actions in the Indo-Pacific and toward India have raised concerns about the possibility of military conflict in the region.
