Guwahati, April 14:\u00a0<\/strong>On the first day of Assam’s spring festival – Rongali Bihu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly-built AIIMS Guwahati, marking a significant milestone for the Northeast region.<\/p>\n

The hospital has a capacity of 750 beds, including 30 AYUSH beds, and was built at a cost of more than Rs 1120 crores. The hospital will also have an annual intake capacity of 100 MBBS students every year, providing world-class healthcare facilities to the people of the Northeast.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the Assam Advanced Health Care Innovation Institute (AAHII), which is designed to identify the unique problems related to health in the nation and promote the development of new technologies to solve those issues. The AAHII will work towards finding its own solutions for the problems faced by the region and is being built at a cost of about Rs. 546 crores.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister also launched the \u2018Aapke Dwar Ayushman\u2019 campaign by distributing Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY<\/a><\/span>) cards to eligible beneficiaries. The campaign aims to bring quality healthcare closer to the people of India, especially those in rural areas who have limited access to medical facilities.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Prime Minister attended the programme marking the platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Guwahati High Court at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati. During the programme, he also launched the \u2018Assam Cop\u2019 mobile application designed by Assam Police to facilitate accused and vehicle searches from the database of the Crime & Criminal Network Tracking System (CCTNS) and the VAHAN national register.<\/p>\n

PM Modi also presided over a public function at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, where he witnessed a colourful Bihu programme performed by more than ten thousand performers\/Bihu dancers. During the event, he also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects worth more than Rs. 10,900 crores.<\/p>\n

These projects included the commissioning of a 500 TPD Menthol Plant in Namrup, laying the foundation stone of a bridge on the Brahmaputra River connecting Palashbari and Sualkuchi, foundation stone laying for the beautification of Rang Ghar, Sivasagar, and the dedication to five railway projects to the Nation.<\/p>\n

Overall, the Prime Minister’s visit to Assam marked a significant development in the healthcare and infrastructure sectors, providing the region with the necessary resources and facilities to improve the lives of the people residing there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
