Shillong, April 28:\u00a0<\/strong>The National Law University (NLU) is set to begin its academic session in July this year, according to Sanjib Banerjee, the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court.<\/p>\n

The admission process started on April 21, and online applications will be accepted until May 21. The admission test is scheduled for May 28, with the merit list set to be published on June 9. Classes are expected to begin on July 10.<\/p>\n

Speaking at an outreach program conducted by the state Education department in collaboration with National Law University, Meghalaya at Yojana Bhavan, Main Secretariat Building, Banerjee announced that 60 students would be enrolled for undergraduate courses, with 20 each in BA LLB, BBA LLB, and BS LLB Honours.<\/p>\n

Additionally, there will be 10 postgraduate students. He also mentioned that the annual fee structure for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is much lower than what private colleges and universities and other national universities charge.<\/p>\n

Banerjee, who was the chief guest at the outreach program, added that such programs would be held across the state to attract applications from aspiring lawyers of the state, as the university had just started.<\/p>\n

The outreach programme was attended by principals, teachers, and students of higher secondary schools from East Khasi Hills<\/a><\/span> and adjoining districts. High court judges Justice HS Thangkhiew and Justice W Diengdoh was also present as special guests. Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary, Education, CVD Diengdoh, Secretary, Law & Legal Remembrancer & Parliamentary Affairs, among others, were also in attendance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
