Gangtok, May 02: <\/strong>The Border Road Organisation (BRO) successfully rescued 40 stranded tourists near Nathula in Sikkim on Monday. The heavy rainfall had left the tourists stranded until the BRO Karmayogies arrived to provide aid. The BRO detachments under Project Swastik were able to shelter the tourists and serve them hot meals.<\/p>\n

After the tourists were rescued, they were sent back to Gangtok after the road was cleared by Project Swastik of BRO. The BRO’s timely action ensured the safety of the tourists who were caught in the unexpected heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n

The rescue operation was carried out under the direction of DG Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhary. Sikkim had been experiencing severe weather conditions due to heavy rains, snow, and hail storms from March 15-17. Despite the harsh conditions, the BRO Karmayogies<\/a> <\/span>were able to provide much-needed assistance to the stranded tourists.<\/p>\n
