Guwahati, May 03:\u00a0<\/strong>A soldier from Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh lost his life in a blast that occurred while he was on sentry duty at the Army’s field firing range in Darranga, Assam.<\/p>\n

A tragic incident occurred at the Army’s field firing range at Darranga in Assam’s Baksa district, where an Army jawan lost his life in a blast. The deceased jawan was identified as Sandeep Kumar, hailing from Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n

He was on sentry duty when the explosion occurred. According to a defence statement, the jawan was severely injured in the blast and was immediately given medical aid by a regimental medical officer available at the range.<\/p>\n

Kumar was then air-evacuated to the base hospital in Guwahati<\/a> <\/span>but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n

Kumar’s death has left behind his wife and a one-year-old son. The Indian Army expressed condolences and extended their support to the bereaved family. An investigation has been initiated to determine the facts of this tragic incident. Field firing ranges are designated areas where the Army undertakes live firing exercises for training purposes.<\/p>\n

Safety measures are taken to ensure the safety of all personnel and civilians in and around the area. Despite precautions and safety measures, such incidents are known to occur due to various factors, including human error, technical malfunctions, or other unforeseen circumstances.<\/p>\n

The incident highlights the risks and dangers that Army personnel face while serving the country, and the sacrifices made by them to ensure the safety and security of our nation. The government and society must recognize and appreciate the service and sacrifice of our armed forces and their families.<\/p>\n

It is important to ensure that the families of deceased soldiers are adequately supported and cared for.
