Cyclone Update, May 08:\u00a0<\/strong>The formation of Cyclone Mocha over the Bay of Bengal has been causing concern among authorities and residents alike. The latest update from the meteorological department suggests that the cyclone is likely to intensify into a depression on the 9th of May and further into a cyclonic storm on the 10th of May over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of the East Central Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea.<\/p>\n

The Met department predicts that the cyclone is expected to move initially in a north-northwest direction towards the east-central Bay of Bengal till 11th May, after which it is likely to recurve gradually and move north-northeastwards towards the Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts. The details of its intensity and the exact path of the cyclone will be provided after the formation of the low-pressure area.<\/p>\n

The formation of the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has already brought rains and gusty winds to the eastern coastal region of India. Coastal states like West Bengal and Odisha<\/a> <\/span>are bracing themselves for the impact of the cyclone, and the state authorities have already started taking measures to mitigate the damages.<\/p>\n
