Imphal, June 12: <\/strong>Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has recently concluded his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, where they discussed the prevailing situation in the violence-hit state.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister, accompanied by four other state leaders, had a crucial discussion with the Home Minister, in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda.<\/p>\n

The primary focus of the meeting was to address the ongoing violence that erupted in Manipur on May 3. The violence stemmed from tribal groups organizing a rally in the ten hill regions of the state, challenging the demand of the Meitei people for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. The clashes resulted in significant disruption, displacing approximately 23,000 individuals and leading to multiple casualties.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the state leadership was advised to actively engage with the general public and conduct extensive outreach to ensure effective communication regarding the situation. The central government has made it clear that anyone involved in disturbing the peace and stability of the region will face consequences, assuring a firm stance against any act of violence.<\/p>\n

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Indian Armed Forces have taken measures to restore normalcy in the violence-affected areas of Manipur. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs<\/a><\/span>) and helicopters have been deployed to monitor sensitive regions and provide real-time surveillance. These efforts aim to bring the situation under control and maintain the safety and security of the affected population.<\/p>\n

Following the crucial meeting, Chief Minister Biren Singh has returned to Imphal, the capital city of Manipur, and is scheduled to address a press conference on May 15 at 9:30 am. This press conference is expected to provide updates on the outcome of the meeting and shed light on the measures being taken by the state government to restore peace and harmony.<\/p>\n
