New Delhi, Aug 09:\u00a0<\/strong>In a significant effort aimed at fostering peace and addressing longstanding grievances, a delegation from the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) of Manipur met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday. This meeting marks a crucial step towards resolving the deep-rooted issues that have plagued the state of Manipur and led to unrest among various tribal communities.<\/p>\n

The ITLF, a collective representing tribal groups in Manipur, has been at the forefront of seeking solutions to address their key demands and concerns. The delegation engaged in talks with Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss these pressing issues and explore ways to restore peace and harmony to the state.<\/p>\n

Key Demands and Concerns of the ITLF<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At the heart of the ITLF’s demands are five crucial issues that have been central to the unrest and conflict in Manipur:<\/p>\n

  1. Total Separation from Manipur:<\/strong> The ITLF has called for a comprehensive solution that includes the separation of tribal areas from the state of Manipur. This demand stems from a desire to address the unique identity and aspirations of the tribal communities.<\/li>\n
  2. Burial of Kuki-Zo Community Members:<\/strong> One of the most pressing issues has been the burial of the bodies of Kuki-Zo community members. These bodies have remained in Imphal, creating a source of tension and concern. The ITLF has urged for the relocation of these bodies to Churachandpur, a move they believe will honor their cultural practices and provide closure to the affected families.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The ITLF’s engagement with Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been marked by earnest deliberations and dialogue. A memorandum addressing the key concerns of the tribal body was submitted to the Union home minister through the headquarters of the 27 Sector, Assam Rifles.
