Agartala, Sept 07: <\/strong>The Left Front of Tripura has made the decision to boycott the counting process for the upcoming by-election, scheduled for September 8. The by-election, which has been a source of significant controversy, involved two crucial Assembly Constituencies in Tripura, namely Dhanpur and Boxanagar, situated in the Sepahijala district of the state.<\/p>\n

The Left Front’s decision to boycott the counting process stems from their vehement allegations of election rigging and what they describe as a farcical electoral process. In a strongly worded statement, Narayan Kar, the Convener of the Left Front, expressed the committee’s deep concerns about the integrity of the by-election held on September 5.<\/p>\n

According to Kar, the Tripura Left Front had repeatedly raised concerns about the alleged rigging and irregularities during the entire electoral process, including the polling phase.<\/p>\n

Kar’s statement reads, “The Tripura Left Front demanded the annulment of the rigged election in these two constituencies, Boxanagar and Dhanpur, and called for the announcement of fresh elections. Surprisingly, despite the passage of twenty-four hours since this demand was made, the Election Commission has not shown any signs of taking action.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

This lack of response from the Election Commission has left the Left Front with a sense of disillusionment and frustration. They believe that it is abundantly clear that the Election Commission<\/a><\/span> has failed to address the alleged irregularities and rigging adequately.<\/p>\n

“In light of these circumstances, the Left Front has decided that participating in the counting of votes is futile. Therefore, we have taken the decision to boycott the counting of the rigged votes on August 8, 2023,”<\/strong> Kar’s statement concludes.<\/p>\n
