New Delhi, Sept 18: <\/strong>Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to open the five-day special session of Parliament, where eight bills, including one related to changes in the selection of Election Commissioners, will be considered. The session will also witness a discussion on the ‘Parliamentary Journey’ spanning 75 years and the relocation of Parliament proceedings to a new building.<\/p>\n

On the first day of the session, Lok Sabha will hold a discussion on the “Parliamentary journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – achievements, experiences, memories, and learnings.”<\/strong> This discussion will take place in both Houses simultaneously, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiating it in Lok Sabha.<\/p>\n

As part of a nostalgic gesture, 10 women parliamentarians have shared handwritten notes recalling their memories, messages, and experiences of the old Parliament building, which will soon be replaced by the new one. These MPs include Mahua Moitra of Trinamool Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi, Union Minister and Apna Dal (S) MP Anupriya Patel<\/a><\/span>, and BJP MP Poonam Mahajan, among others.<\/p>\n
