New Delhi, Sept 19: <\/strong>Union Cabinet has given its approval to proposed legislation aimed at ensuring 33 percent reservation for women in both the Lok Sabha and state Assemblies.<\/p>\n

While an official announcement from the government is still pending, sources indicate that the Women’s Reservation Bill will be tabled for discussion during the ongoing special session of Parliament.<\/p>\n

The crucial meeting, which marked a significant step toward greater gender inclusivity in India’s political landscape, was convened at 6:30 pm following the inaugural session of the special Parliament gathering.<\/p>\n

The Women’s Reservation Bill, once enacted, will enforce a 33 percent quota for women in both the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. This move has garnered support from leaders across the political spectrum, as many have recognized the importance of fostering gender balance and women’s participation in the decision-making process.<\/p>\n

Speculation and anticipation surrounding the bill had been mounting since the announcement of the special Parliament<\/a> <\/span>session. The proposal, which has been the subject of extensive debate and discussion, has now taken a substantial step toward realization.<\/p>\n

The Congress party, in particular, has championed the Women’s Reservation Bill as a long-standing demand. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh welcomed the Union Cabinet’s decision, expressing his approval.
