Itanagar, Sept 29:\u00a0<\/strong>Government of India has given the green light to a road project with an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore. This project aims to connect the Donyi Polo Airport to the Borum Railway Station, and it is set to transform connectivity in the Papum Pare district, which shares a border with Assam.<\/p>\n

Notably, the project will have a significant impact on the remote town of Dorpang, which is situated at the boundary of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh within the Banderdewa circle of the Papum Pare district.<\/p>\n

The announcement of this road project has brought newfound hope and optimism to the residents of Dorpang and other villages along the Assam-Arunachal boundary. These communities have long awaited improved infrastructure and connectivity, and the approval of this project is seen as a promising step in the right direction.<\/p>\n

Tana Hali Tara, the MLA of Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh, recently visited Dorpang village, which had been overlooked by previous local MLAs and successive governments for many years. During his visit, he urged the citizens living in boundary villages along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border to maintain peace, harmony, and brotherhood.<\/p>\n

MLA Tana Hali Tara highlighted the collaborative efforts of Chief Ministers Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam and Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh, both representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in addressing boundary issues and enhancing connectivity.<\/p>\n

He emphasized Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s vision for improved connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh and mentioned the forthcoming Rs 300 crore road project that will connect Donyi Polo Airport<\/a> <\/span>to Borum Railway Station. He assured the people of Dorpang and Sonajuli that a new highway would soon be constructed in their region.<\/p>\n

Tara also mentioned the construction of a water tank using his MLA Lad fund and the need to pursue compensation for the unfortunate incident of four individuals losing their lives in a well in the area.<\/p>\n

The news of the road project’s approval has brought immense joy to the people of Dorpang, and they expressed their gratitude for the development initiatives undertaken by the BJP government. The women’s self-help groups of Dorpang shared their excitement about an upcoming exposure tour to Delhi and Agra, which will be supported by the local MLA.<\/p>\n

This tour represents a golden opportunity for these village women, who have primarily been engaged in farming and childcare within their rural communities. Their first visit to the national capital will provide them with exposure and experiences they have never had before. The self-help groups, namely Huto Aan, Mangming, and Abotani, will each send seven members on this educational tour.<\/p>\n

The women of Dorpang acknowledged the positive impact of the BJP government’s efforts, which have brought improvements in water supply through the Jal Jeevan mission, the construction of bridges, and enhancements in healthcare and education facilities in their region.<\/p>\n

As the road project progresses, it is expected to significantly improve connectivity, enhance economic opportunities, and contribute to the overall development of the Papum Pare district and its adjoining areas.
