Gangtok, Oct 06: <\/strong>The Central Government has given its approval for the release of Rs 44.80 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for the fiscal year 2023-24 to aid the victims of the devastating flash floods in Sikkim. These funds are earmarked for relief measures aimed at alleviating the suffering of those affected by the recent flash floods.<\/p>\n

The decision to release these funds was officially sanctioned by the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah. Furthermore, the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken swift action by constituting an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT). The primary purpose of this team is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the extensive damages caused by the flash floods. Subsequent to this evaluation, additional assistance will be provided based on the team’s recommendations and findings.<\/h6>\n
