Gangtok, Oct 09:\u00a0<\/strong>The stranded students from Assam in the flood-affected region of Sikkim have been successfully rescued and safely returned to their home state. A coordinated effort involving Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) buses and government officials ensured the safe evacuation of these students, the majority of whom were enrolled at Sikkim Manipal University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Assam Chief Minister’s Office had announced that Assam Government officials had been dispatched to Sikkim to oversee the students’ return.<\/p>\n

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had also mentioned on October 6 that two senior officers were assigned to facilitate the evacuation of approximately 160 students who were stranded in the Rongpo and Majitar areas of Sikkim.<\/p>\n

Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, extended a warm welcome to the rescued students upon their return to Assam. This rescue operation was conducted under the guidance of the state government, resulting in the successful evacuation of around 130 students.
