{"id":2927,"date":"2020-07-05T14:51:14","date_gmt":"2020-07-05T09:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=2927"},"modified":"2020-07-05T14:51:14","modified_gmt":"2020-07-05T09:21:14","slug":"an-assistant-professor-in-assam-gets-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/an-assistant-professor-in-assam-gets-arrested\/","title":{"rendered":"An assistant professor in Assam gets arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 dir=\"auto\">Accused of videography and uploading pornographic video content on the Internet, an assistant professor in Assam gets Arrested<\/h1>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Accused of videography and uploading pornographic video content on the Internet, an assistant professor of Dibrugarh University in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/biggest-single-day-spike-of-1202-cases-in-assam\/\">Assam<\/a><\/span> was arrested on Friday after an FIR was lodged by the registrar of the university against him.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">He was in his 30s and professor of Mathematics in the University.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">&#8220;<strong>In the viral video, a person resembling the educator is seen with a woman in a compromising state. On Thursday evening, we raided his house and seized his laptop<\/strong>,\u201d informed\u00a0the Dibrugarh District Superintendent of Police Sreejith T to PTI.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u201c<strong>The professor confessed during interrogation that he had videographed the pornographic content with a woman in a hotel in Guwahati three years ago<\/strong>,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The police have confiscated camera which had been used for filming in a raid in the Amolapatty area of Dibrugarh.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Although the accused has claimed that the woman seen in the video was not a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/students-appeal-centre-to-adopt-measures-against-china\/\">student<\/a><\/span> of the university and the Dibrugarh district police have verified the claim with authorities of the University, an enquiry commission has been set up to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">&#8220;<strong>On getting information about a viral video of the assistant professor, we issued him a show-cause notice on June 26 seeking an explanation within five days.
