Guwahati, July 11: Eight more persons died in Assam due to COVID-19 in last 24 hours taking the death tally<\/a><\/span> in the state to 35.<\/p>\n According to the reports, all eight COVID-19<\/a><\/span> patients died in Guwahati.<\/p>\n While seven patients died due to the deadly virus at Guwahati Medical College Hospital, one died at COVID care canter set up at IIT, Guwahati<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n On the other hand, Assam lost its first policeman to the novel Coronavirus.<\/strong><\/p>\n 53-year-old Hareswar Nath of the Assam Police\u2019s 16 IR Battalion died on Friday due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n The police personnel tested positive for the new virus on July 7 and he was admitted at COVID care centre set up at IIT, Guwahati.<\/p>\n Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that \u2013 \u201cWith a heavy heart I inform you that Shri Hareswar Nath, 53 years old, a non-symptomatic patient with no comorbidities succumbed to COVID 19 at IITG COVID care centre.<\/strong> His oxygen levels plummeted to 90 within hours and he collapsed.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n See the tweet here:<\/p>\n With a heavy heart I inform you that Shri Hareswar Nath, 53 years old, a non-symptomatic patient with no co morbidities succumbed to COVID 19 at IITG COVID care centre.His oxygen levels plummeted to 90 within hours and he collapsed. — Himanta Biswa Sarma (@himantabiswa) July 10, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
