Guwahati, August 12:<\/strong> A marriage party of Assam\u2019s Biswanath district has now become a breeding ground of COVID-19 after at least 28 people who attended the wedding party have tested positive for the new virus.<\/p>\n

According to the reports, defying all government orders, social distancing norms<\/a><\/span><\/span>, around 500 people were attended a marriage function held at Uttar Maral village in the northern Assam district on August 5 last.<\/p>\n

28 persons who have attended the party have tested positive for COVID-19<\/a><\/span><\/span> and the district administration has now tried to find out the other persons who were also attended the marriage party.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are now trying to find out other persons details. Health teams are engaged for it<\/strong>,\u201d a top official of the district administration said.<\/p>\n

Assam has so far reported 64,406 positive cases for COVID-19 and out of the 45,073 patients have discharged from hospitals.<\/p>\n

The state has registered 2669 positive cases for the novel Coronavirus in the last 24 hours and 115 people died due to the new virus infections so far.<\/p>\n
