Meghalaya, 21th October:<\/strong> As the unlock 5 began countrywide, the Meghalaya government allowed schools to reopen but regular classes aren’t allowed yet. Keeping the COVID-19<\/a><\/span><\/span> pandemic situation in mind, the principal secretary to the education department, DP Wahlang said, “Regular class activities for schools, colleges, education institutions will remain closed till further notification<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

The schools in the northeastern State was allowed to partially open from September, after almost six months of closure. The schools were debarred from regular classes, but activities like student-teacher counselling, assignments and submission of work by students etc. were allowed.<\/p>\n

The state government has rationalised the school curriculum for this academic year. The schools have also been instructed to draw up individual micro-planning relating to flexible timing and short duration visit of students.<\/p>\n

The department has set a few strict protocols to be followed during the Unlock. All teaching materials should be properly sanitized and anyone who is sick, shouldn’t turn up. All schools in Meghalaya should prepare a continuous learning plan for students, continuous online or distance learning modes and ensure 50 per cent attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
