Assam, 9th November:<\/strong> Sensation prevails after the mysterious death of a two-month-old male baby in an Assam Tea Garden, Muttuck Tea Estate at Lahowal in Dibrugarh district.<\/p>\n

According to sources, the compounder of the Muttuck Tea Estate hospital on Sunday stated the baby dead, however, the members of the family claimed they’d found the child alive during the funeral rites. The family members took the baby to the Assam Medical College Hospital<\/a><\/span><\/span> (AMCH) at Dibrugarh however the doctors also declared him brought dead.<\/p>\n

Sources said, \u201cA two-month-old baby, Purab Mura, fell sick on Sunday and his family members hurried him to the Muttuck Tea Estate hospital where no doctors or nurses were found. The family members, however, found a compounder within the hospital. She checked up the baby and declared him dead<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The deceased baby\u2019s mother, Niha Mura claimed when they started getting ready for his last rites, she saw that the baby\u2019s hands and legs were twitching. \u201cWe then took him to AMC for treatment where the doctors declared him brought dead. The doctors told us that he had expired 2 hours ago<\/strong>,\u201d said Neha. \u201cWe suspect that the compounder of the tea garden hospital had declared my baby dead even while he was alive<\/strong>,\u201d alleged Neha.<\/p>\n

The father of the deceased, Papu Mura said, \u201cIf my baby had received the proper treatment within the Tea Estate Hospital, he would have remained alive today.\u201d \u201cI have lost my baby because of negligence on the part of the compounder on duty and non-availability of doctors within the hospital<\/strong>,\u201d Mura added.<\/p>\n

The members of the Assam Tea Tribes Students\u2019 Association (ATTSA) gheraoed the office of Muttuck Tea Estate in protest against the sheer carelessness in the health issues of the tea garden<\/a><\/span><\/span> people.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch an incident happened because of negligence on the part of the tea garden hospital authority. If doctors were present at the hospital when the two-month-old baby was taken, the incident wouldn’t have happened<\/strong>,\u201d said an ATTSA member.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody is fiddling with the health of the tea garden individuals. We demand an investigation into the matter and the resignation of the compounder<\/strong>,\u201d the ATTSA member said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
