Meghalaya, 23rd November:\u00a0<\/strong>In view of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the administration of Meghalaya\u2019s East Khasi Hills has extended the night curfew<\/a><\/span><\/span> in the district till November 30 from 11 pm to 5 am each day.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the prevailing situation concerning COVID-19 in the state and to put in place preventive and mitigation measures so the pandemic of COVID-19 is contained, reduced and eliminated in East Khasi Hills District and Meghalaya, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 21st November 2020 under Section 144 CrPC read together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 has promulgated night curfew in East Khasi Hills District with effect from 23rd November 2020 up to 30th November 2020 only for timings falling between 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM each day,\u201d<\/strong> an official order read.<\/p>\n

It has been informed that the order will not apply to medical teams and officials on COVID<\/a><\/span>-19 duty, police, security and armed forces, Civil Defence and Home Guard volunteers, wholesale and retail pharmacies, Fire and Emergency service, MeECL, NEEPCO and Power Grid, FCI vehicles, officers and staff of corona care centers, press, print and electronic, Information and Public Relations Department, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, Shillong Municipal Board, and Telecom service.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese services shall strictly comply with all protocols and procedures including social distancing, limiting of field staff to the barest minimum and other advisories of Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department, without fail,\u201d<\/strong> it added.<\/p>\n

The movement of vehicles carrying essential goods, security forces, medical equipment, and shops for the repair of trucks on highways shall also be exempted.<\/p>\n

However, drivers and attendants of the vehicles shall be subject to medical screening as per laid down protocols.<\/p>\n

Curfew passes for timings falling between 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM with effect from 23rd November 2020 up to 30th November 2020 can be obtained via online application at eastkhasihills.gov.in.<\/p>\n

In another order, the administration has prohibited any assembly or gathering without due permission in all of East Khasi Hills District with effect from 23rd November 2020 up to 30th November 2020 for timings falling between 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
