{"id":6079,"date":"2020-11-30T13:40:37","date_gmt":"2020-11-30T08:10:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=6079"},"modified":"2020-11-30T15:07:41","modified_gmt":"2020-11-30T09:37:41","slug":"bjp-will-abolish-vcdc-to-conduct-panchayat-elections-in-btr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/bjp-will-abolish-vcdc-to-conduct-panchayat-elections-in-btr\/","title":{"rendered":"BJP will abolish VCDC, to conduct panchayat elections in BTR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Assam, 30th November:<\/strong> North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and Assam cabinet minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that Village Council Development Committees (VCDC) would be abolished in the Bodoland Territorial Region (<span style=\"color: #000000;\">BTR<\/span>), if the BJP forms Bodoland Territorial Council (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/assam-cm-sonowal-chairs-all-party-meeting-regarding-btr-elections\/\">BTC<\/a><\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Sarma said that Panchayat elections would be held in the areas under the BTC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>BJP will abolish the VCDC. Panchayat elections will be conducted in the BTC areas so that no anomalies can take place<\/strong>,\u201d he said at an election rally in Udalguri district.<\/p>\n<p>Sarma alleged that during the reign of Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF, VCDCs were engaged in widespread corruption.
