{"id":7037,"date":"2021-01-02T12:51:21","date_gmt":"2021-01-02T07:21:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=7037"},"modified":"2021-01-03T15:49:10","modified_gmt":"2021-01-03T10:19:10","slug":"assam-gmch-open-super-specialty-hospital-eye-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/assam-gmch-open-super-specialty-hospital-eye-bank\/","title":{"rendered":"Assam: GMCH open super specialty hospital, eye bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Assam, Jan 02:\u00a0<\/strong>In a major boost to Assam\u2019s health sector, a state-of-the-art super specialty hospital, an eye bank was opened at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/medical-student-of-gmch-found-dead\/\">GMCH<\/a><\/span><\/span>) on January 1.<\/p>\n<p>State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the 257-bed super specialty hospital and an eye bank at GMCH.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, Sarma said, <strong>\u201cThe super specialty hospital, which was earlier serving as a COVID hospital, is equipped with advanced apparatus and machines for providing the best of treatment.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The second wing of the super-specialty hospital is expected to be ready by February.<\/p>\n<p>State <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Himanta_Biswa_Sarma\">Health Minister<\/a><\/span> share the glimpse on Twitter and said <strong>\u201cThe Eye Bank inaugurated today at GMCH is a boon not only for #Assam but for #NorthEast as a whole. A 500-bed mother and child hospital will be ready in the next two years as well. So along with the super-specialty hospital, GMCH will soon have over 3000 beds, which make the hospital one of the biggest in the country,\u201d<\/strong> the minister said.<\/p>\n<p>The Health Minister also inaugurated an eye bank at GMCH, which he said would be a <strong>\u201cboon not only for Assam but for Northeast as a whole.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe eye bank has been set up by the Assam government in collaboration with the Tata Trusts, Hans Foundation, and the LV Prasad Eye Institute.
